How we check qualifications
When UK ENIC checks your qualifications for a Statement of Comparability, UK Qualification Reference Statement or an Early Years Statement, we consider:
- the status of the qualification and awarding body
- the level of the qualification in the home education system
- entry requirements
- length of the course
- course structure, content and learning outcomes
- how the course was assessed
- progression routes and professional rights

Our evaluations team consider all criteria and no factor is more important than another.
UK ENIC Band Framework
UK ENIC uses a system called the Band Framework to compare international qualifications with UK qualifications.
By using this framework, we can find the closest UK equivalent for any international qualification.
Outcome of an evaluation
The outcome of an evaluation is a comparison to a standard, level or qualification in the UK, wherever relevant and possible.
Statements from UK ENIC are not legal documents and should be treated as guidance. The final decision about any employment or study you apply for will be made by the employer or institution.
Each type of Statement includes different information about your qualifications and how they compare to UK education systems. Find out specific information in the guidance for each Statement:
