This service is for UK qualifications only. For international qualifications, check our information about getting a Statement of Comparability.

A UK Qualification Reference Statement is a certificate that shows detailed information about qualifications awarded by a UK institution. You can use it when applying for jobs or studies overseas.

If you have an uncommon UK qualification, you can use the Statement to give more information about this when you apply for jobs or studies in the UK. Show the Statement with your original UK qualifications.

Warning This is a chargeable service. The fee paid covers the evaluation of your qualifications to establish if you are eligible for a Statement. We will advise you if you are eligible or not. This service is non-refundable once we have started reviewing your application.

If you have a qualification from a professional body

You cannot use a UK Qualification Reference Statement for qualifications awarded by a UK professional body, for example ACCA and CIMA. Use the Statement of Comparability service for these qualifications.

The information given in the statement depends on the qualification being checked.

Your Statement will have a unique 10-digit reference number. Your Statement may also include information about:

  • entry requirements
  • length of the course
  • how the course is assessed
  • typical progression routes following the qualification
  • comparison of the qualification to UK education systems and status of the awarding body
  • professional rights that come with the qualification
