A Statement of Comparability is a certificate that shows how international qualifications compare to the UK education systems. The UK's education systems include England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The Statement gives international qualifications context when applying for jobs, studies or professional registration in the UK. Show the Statement of Comparability with your original qualifications.

Who can get a Statement of Comparability
This service is for people with international qualifications to compare their qualifications to the UK education systems.
The service can be used for academic, vocational and some professional qualifications.
We can also provide comparisons and credit information for some incomplete or partially documented qualifications, micro-credentials and short courses.
Check if you need another service
This service is not suitable for:
- proving English language skills for applications to the Home Office (find out more about the Visas and Nationality Services (opens in a new tab))
- proving English language skills to other institutions, for example for employment or studies (find out more about doing a secure English Language Test (opens in a new tab))
- those who want to work in the early years sector in England
- UK qualifications, you will need a UK Qualification Reference Statement instead
What you will get
The Statement will include:
- your full name
- your UK ENIC reference number (a unique 10-digit number which is also on your ENIC portal homepage)
- the name, country, year and awarding school of each international qualification
- how the qualifications compare to the UK education systems
- UK qualification comparisons (where applicable)

What it does not include
The Statement of Comparability does not comment on grades, grade comparisons, specific subjects or English proficiency.
