300+ delegates attended UKENIC24: 'Insights for Internationalisation'

29 November 2024

Delegates from the UK and beyond attended our two-day UKENIC24 conference at The Mermaid in central London last week (26 to 27 November).

This year’s theme was ‘Insights for Internationalisation’ – a continuation of a conversation started at ENIC NORTH in Glasgow earlier this year - and featured a packed programme of plenaries, panels, presentations and networking.

Chris Lyons, Head of External Engagement at UK ENIC and conference programme lead, said: 'We listened to our members, and thanks to support from our Conference Advisory Panel – made up of industry leaders, policy makers and other experts from across the sector – developed our most ambitious programme to date.

'It included a wide breadth of content, high calibre of expert speakers from across the sector and within UK ENIC, and a diverse range of themes discussed.'

Fraud, TNE, market trends, branding and identity, the student journey, employability, sustainability and the future potential of EdTech and AI were among the topics discussed, many of which overlapped and threaded through discussions.

Amongst the many highlights was a day one morning plenary by BBC News presenter Sally Bundock, who discussed geopolitical events and the knock-on effects these are having on international education.

Day two started with a question time panel looking into the challenges and opportunities across the education sector, bringing in our main theme, chaired by Tracy Ferrier and featuring contributions from Professor John Dishman (Coventry University Group), Heather Knight (UKCISA) and Emma Meredith (AoC).

Chris added: 'We are grateful to all delegates, speakers, exhibitors, facilitators and venue staff for all their work – and of course to delegates who attended. We also give huge thanks to our event sponsors.'

UKENIC24 was presented in partnership with LanguageCert.

It was presented in association with TOEFL and IELTS.
