Keynote speaker announced for ENIC NORTH

We are pleased to announce the keynote speaker for ENIC NORTH 2025, our one-day conference in Glasgow on Tuesday 29 April. 

Prof. Simon Thomson, Director of Flexible Learning at the University of Manchester, will start the conversation around our overall theme of ‘Innovation and human connection: harmonising the future of education’, as part of the opening plenary. 

He has an academic background in broadcast engineering and blended/online education, as well as senior level experience in Higher Education, relating to digital and blended/online curriculum design and education. 

Professor Thomson has worked in both Post-92 and Russell Group Universities, with his work centring around the development of increasing mixed-modal (hybrid) educational experiences.

ENIC NORTH 2025 is being held at the University of Strathclyde, Technology and Innovation Centre, and will feature a range of relevant and topical content including discussion panels, breakout sessions and plenaries, as well as Q&A.

Fraud and verification, human-centred AI in international admissions, microcredentials, EdTech, English language testing and getting the most out of your UK ENIC membership, are among the topics being explored by visiting professionals and UK ENIC experts. 

The event includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day. There will also be a networking reception at the end of the day, from 4pm to 5pm.
