This service is for UK qualifications only.

A UK qualification is any qualification which is part of the UK education framework and which is issued by a UK institution or UK body. This includes qualifications completed via distance learning.

This service is for those who need detailed information about their completed UK qualification(s).

This may help you if you:

  • Need to use your UK qualification overseas. For example, for employment or further study.
  • Hold an older qualification which is often misunderstood.
  • Completed a UK qualification overseas and need confirmation of its standing in the UK education framework.

Note that if you hold a qualification awarded by a UK professional body, such as ACCA, CIMA, CIOB etc, or a qualification awarded by an overseas body/institution, we will not be able to comment on this within the UK Qualification Reference Statement. In these cases, we advise that you apply for our Statement of Comparability service.

The purpose of the UK Qualification Reference Statement is to provide contextual information about your UK qualification.

This may include information about entry requirements, typical progression routes following the qualification, standing of the qualification according to UK frameworks, professional rights given upon completion, status of awarding bodies and institutions etc. This is not an exhaustive list of possible information. The exact information given in the statement depends on the qualification being evaluated.

Applications for the UK Qualification Reference Statement are made online through our website.

At the bottom of this page, you will see an Apply Now button. This allows you to register and create an online account. Then you can begin your application process with UK ENIC. As our services are provided by Ecctis, you create your online account with Ecctis.

Once you have created your account, and followed the verification link emailed to you, select the Start your Application button in the portal.

This will take you through the application process. This includes adding your qualification, uploading photographs of the supporting documents, providing your contact information so we can deliver your order, and choosing a delivery option based on your location.

When you reach the final page of the application, you will see a text box called Application Notes. In this box, tell us the reason for your application and any specific information you require us to confirm or to assess. We will then try our best to include this in the statement we issue, although this may not always be possible.

Note that an application is not fully submitted and complete until full payment has been made.

All documents given must be clear colour photographs (JPEG file recommended).

We need to see all 4 corners of the document. The document should be placed on a flat surface such as a table. We need to be able to see the background around the document.

We may ask you to send more images if we cannot see all 4 corners of the pages in the images you send.

The initial documentation that we need to begin the evaluation are:

  • The final certificate given to you when you completed your qualification.
  • The official transcript showing all subjects or modules studied and grades achieved throughout your studies.
  • If you have studied through a transnational education arrangement, such as distance learning or at a linked institution, we will need evidence of this from the awarding institution/body.
  • Evidence of any changes in your name, including legal identification showing your current legal name (such as a passport or driving licence). This is only required if the name used during your studies is not the same as your current legal name.

Note that these documents are necessary to begin the evaluation process. It is possible our Evaluation Team may ask for more supporting documents to assist with the qualification evaluation.

This service costs ¤49.50 and your chosen delivery option. The timeframe to complete your order is 20 working days from when we have received all necessary documentation for each submitted qualification and full payment.

All timeframes mentioned include our review process, an update will be given within 20 working days from when any additional documentation is provided. Please allow the full 20 working days for our team to provide an update through the Order Status area of the User Portal.

Due to the more complex processes involved in this service, we are not able to offer a faster timeframe than the 20 working days.

If we have to ask for more documents during the application process, the time clock for completion of your order re-starts from when we receive the additional documents.
